Today I get to put my new engine into my EB series1.

I have got an EL engine with about 120k on it.

Can i expect to get the full 157kw from it in stock form without the EL ECU and have some sort of sleeper.........

Oh man I am so pumped, really really excited :D :D :D

I wouldn't expect too much other than a fresher motor.

If your not using the BBM and EL ECU, you can probably only expect a few more kW from the extra compression.

generally yes. But I have seen people use the term "long motor" even though things like manifolds are not included

afaik a long motor is a complete block and cylinder head, including rocker gear rocker cover etc.
it does not include anything that bolts on, these are called bolt ons.

a short motor is just the block with pistons etc. in tact.

I got my car back today and its running awesome, it feels a tad more powerful and a little smoother.

The thing is that is still has the airfilter sitting over the engine, is there anyway to get rid of it or is that all to do with the BBM?

Thanks

sounds like thay used your existing single point manifold... yes, you can get rid of it by converting to the bbm that was introduced on EF falcons and is stil used today on current falcons.. so musnt be a bad thing,, think there is a doco somewhere on the converson.. is well worth the conversion the benifits you get..
