sensibly and legally you need a muffler, but there is a guy up here in Syd who has a EB/ED with no muffler he likes it but we call it the tractor - draw your own conclusion there! not good!

yeah your going to need a muffler, run the car straight from the extractors and you will hear it will sound like a tractor.... you can pick up some good 2.5" systems on ebay...

Look at Hooker Aerochamber mufflers, I bought mine off ebay for about $130.

If you can weld/have access to a welder you will be able to make something better than what you will buy off the shelf for the same $$$. In the end the only difference you will probably notice is the note though.

you can buy flanges cheaper than you can make them unless you have alot of time on your hands i've found...

you definitely need a cat and at least one muffler, they also assist back pressure.

2.5 or 3 inch is constantly argued on this site and plenty of relevant information and opinions around about it. General consensus seems to be that without outrageous mods, 2.5 inch is fine.

I had a bloke who worked in a jap performance shop laugh at me wen I told him I bought a 2.5 inch cat back, he said it was too big for a stock 4l but I put it on and it seemed to make a difference, but it is droney with 1 muffler and no resonator, alot of people will debate over what size and how many mufflers you need, id say do wat you want all we can do is give advise

get pinned for no cat and your down $15000, yep $ 1 5 , 0 0 0. thats the EPA fine. its mandated not a maximum fine, thats what it is.

Its not worth not running a cat.
