G'day Guys and Girls, its been a little while since ive been on here.

Anyway I'm just about to give my car a service for the first time this weekend(my first time, the cars been serviced before) :) 91 nc fairlance ghia on LPG with AU engine

I plan to give it oil/filter change and automatic transmission fluid change and band adjustment. plus ill check the belts and i might pull the plugs out and have a look.

*Things I think I'll need*
Jack stands
transmission gasget
torque wrench
transmission fluid
locktite 567
drain pan
filter wrench
oil filter
oil
feeler gauge
spark plug socket bit.

I have a haynes service manual which seems ok. but can anyone advise me on any other tool's i might need for the job (i have a verry basic kit).
Also any things to watch out for (ie before you pull the 'x' you have to do 'y') and any other things that I should probably do at the same time (ill also look at belts and probably rotate tires and change coolant)

man this service is getting more expensive all the time. Any advice would be appreciated on tools, techniques, best oil for my set up ect ect ect

Cheers and thanks to anyone who provides info

Ben

if your going to check leads and plugs, you will need a spare sparkplug to cover port of the one you checking and a pair of vice drips to hold lead and plug onto hoisting mount :)

Get a trans fluid filter while you've got the box open. Might as well do the plugs too while your at it.

I heard that the bands can be sensitive to adjustment. Be careful they don't break.
