Please don't get me wrong, I love my new falcon as far as the next wiill, but I want to let you all know of some tips that will better help you buy a better Falcon rather than fall into the presentation trap that I did. Please let me know if or have other solotions to these problems.

1. Rear door outer rubbers falling off. (fixed by silicon glue).

2. Drivers side seat belt not retracking.

3. i come find out that there is a differemce between XT and Futrua head lights 'cause I have full chrome lense on the drivers side ande a black lense on the passanger side. After noticing this I came to find that the car had been in a small prang that had not been fixed properly. The point to my story is that things that seem the same may not really mean they are.

I hope this gives someone some info they may need.

Let me know of other details I may have missed.

Thanks,

What are you on about!! well all the problems you have described werent hidden before you bought the car. Its very simple have the car inspected before you buy it!!

Ok call me stupid but really what are you trying to say? The obvious part of buying a car is to look it over for defects or damage like door rubbers fallen off, different headlights and so on.....

I have to admit that the problems you have mentioned are very minor!

As far as seat belt goes, my EF and AU never retracted properly so no biggie.

The BA has bigger problems like brake shudder, hand brake is s**t, diffs blowing etc.

A mate of mine bought an AU XR8 ute new back in 01, he kept that until last year as it was the best car he'd ever owned, he went upto a BF XR8 ute and said it's the biggest mistake he's ever made... So many things are wrong with it he wants to get rid of it, and Fords customer service from then till now has disgusted him, they bent over backwards with his AU but have failed in a big way on his BF.

He wont buy Ford ever again after this!

Yeah well I'm just comparing with the old ED we have. when we got got it, never had a problem. Now 6 years later still no problem (touch wood). I didn't know there was a difference between XT and Futura headlights till now. Stands out like dogs balls now you notice. Didn't at the time. All the same its not bad car. Goes well.

ok what i think has happened with the light is the have fitted a bf light check to see if there is an addapter for the park light this will confirm it if so . the door rubbers need to be compressed along the edges or as you have done glued in place its a very common thing and the seat belt is a build up of lint on the top slide just remove the top half of your b pillar trim and clean with a rag and some wax and grease remover and then apply some silicone and it should be as good as new
