Well, when I come to sydney, it will be good to meetup with ya's!

Todd, I hope the cam works well in your car, and im sure you won't be dissapointed with it!

cheers!

Hi mate,

What cam does Todd have in his car?

Was thinking of going for a Stage 1 (as shown on the ALTED website), how does this compare to a Crow Mild Cam?

I've seen lots of reviews on your Stage 2 & 3, but nothing on the Stage 1!

What's the difference(s) between Stage 1 & 2?

Really just need something that will give me noticeable power increase over a decent range, that is easy to install (changing springs is OK), with smooth to stock idle, that will work with my stock ECU & Diff (although I MAY go 3.45 LSD at some stage).

So what would you recommend ...Stage 1 or 2?

Please let me know ASAP, as I want a Stage 1 or 2 ...but can't decide!

Cheers mate.

s**t ...forgot to mention my car is AUTO with Adjustable shift kit from Shiftkits.com.

Will these still work fine with Stage 1 or 2?

Please reply soon!

There are a few threads on Stage 1, one even by myself.
It is good for absolutely perfect idle and wide powerband. The power is just a tad better than a Wade 1004 I found.

I'd say if your after a larger power increase you'd go with Stage 2, but you'll have to bare the added expense of valve springs - that's all. It seems to idle pretty darn good too.

That's all I needed to know Vox!

Looks like a Stage 2 + springs is the way to go, sounds like Todd is having a whale of a time with his!

Do you think the Vernier is a wise option also?

If all the cams are the same price, I may as well go for a Stage 2!

Thanks heaps.

Can you post me a link to your Stage 1 thread?

Cheers.

Yeah, just read it ...very interesting!

I could play it safe & go for the Stage 1 (the lower rev power point is very attractive), but if I can get a similar idle with even more power on the Stage 2 ...then that is definitely better!

Will probably look at Stage 2, springs, and vernier...

Will this be piss-easy for the average mechanic to install?

What about initial tuning, will it have to be dyno'd?

You can read the camshalt install guide on the ALTED website and see if you think you can do it ... and nope, you don' need tuning afterwards, but its always best to have a check and tune with ING timing.

But If you go ahead with it, Get it Dyno'd andpost up ya RWKW!

Just comparing...

That's what I reckon!

My shiftkit really helps my car kick down & take off at the mo, but I almost shoot a load just thinking what a good cam would do for it!

I must say that this site is awesome, with the wealth of knowledge you guys have.

I have learnt so much about my car, and I'm well & truly hooked by the mod bug ...thanks to everyone on this site!

And to think that 4 months ago I was thinking of selling my baby & replacing it with an Elantra, Magna, Camry ...WHAT was I thinking!!!!

Just gotta get it to it's full potential now...
