boiling does nothing for the water, you need a good clean water source, (which tap water definitly is not) - buy a bottle of distilled water from the supermarket, a bottle of the natural spring water should do the job as well, your mostly worried about mineral impurities in the water.

Having a dead/dying batt can be scary. Was once driving a *cough cough* kia. Stopped at a set of lites (busy ones). Car stalled, wouldnt restart, had same clicking and all the rest of it. Batt collapsed on that. Same thing happened to a *cough cough* homo-dore i used to own....so its a pretty common occurence. Pain the a**, plus the $60 or so for another batt that ALWAYS comes at a bad time......

try having a student income (anything breaking comes at a bad time) and having both your battery and alternator let go within 3days of each other..

well its fixed.

was no water in the battery. racv soon fixed it.. apparently the battery is good, just had no water in it (i had no idea about this kinda stuff) so i guess i live and learn...

now i drive it, it actually feels a bit more responsive if that makes sense (doesnt to me as only a fully charged battery has changed) then again it could be the change from a daewoo back to my beast

for future reference, generally as long as there's electrolyte over the plates, you're fine, but IIRC the prescribed level is to the bottom of the piece of plastic tha sticks down the side of each plughole.....

hmm..... doesnt make much sense does it....
