Either the rocker cover is leaking, or the O'ring for the P/S pump. or the engine oil pressure switch. Clean down the engine and have a look over the next couple of days.

I6 ef probably would of been the better way to describe the engine....

Just question about cleaning the engine (i read the post about degresing) if i spray under the bonnet with a hose (thinking of going to happy wash..) am I going to do much damage, obviously avoid washing the battery etc..

My eb had a similar problem I was told it was a oil pressure switch for me it wasn't it was the trans lines running to the radiator had been rubbing on the fan belts and worn through which sprayed fluid all over the engine bay. So thats something you could look for.

Got some more info....removed the fans from the motor today & started it up. The oil is comming from around the water pump, on top and running down from there.

Its got me abit confused becuse i didnt think the water pump had oil run through it.

Any ideas??

Clean the engine bay up with degreaser so that you cant see some oil - then take it for a drive and see where the oil is coming from...

You will need an O'ring kit for the tensioner and a special tool plus a piece of 1/4" tube and a 3mm allen key, and a w'shop manual.
