Hi guys, I am in the process of changing over the oil light sender unit with an oil gauge sender as I have installed the sports cluster into my XH. It is the six cylinder motor. Can someone tell me what size socket/spanner will fit please. I know I will need a long reach socket so I just need to know the size. The two units are in separate vehicles at the moment and I want to get the socket/spanner size before I start doing the swap.

Cheers, AU055

you'll need 27mm deep socket for the original, some replacment ones are 24mm.

Thanks tickford6 I got the 27mm socket and changed it over this evening. It worked a treat. winman, on my XH the sender goes directly into the engine block. I did have a look at an AU turbo motor today at the local Ford wreckers and the sender unit is 27mm and it went into an adaptor. My sender unit cost $60 at Macarthur Ford and Peps wanted $81. I was really surprised to find the Ford dealer cheaper but I have got a few things off them recently and their prices are better than Peps or Repco.

Thanks for your advice guys I appreciate the help. Cheers, Steve.
