Yep sensors shot, not sure if the light would come on if the oil pressure is to low either. I just replaced mine for the same reason, bastard of a thing to change too. You either need to take off you're oil filter and try to get a spanner or shifter onto it from underneath or if your lucky like me be friends with the head mechanic at the local dealership and borrow the "service tool", which turns out to be an impact socket which is hollowed out past the hex section.

yeah it sits like 2 bars belows the level 7 where the red is then sometimes decides to just sit high then go back down lol. Might get the sensor replaced then see what it reads :P

Off topic but, i need to replace my transmission its auto 4 speed. Im going to be putting my fully reco and recently serviced eb tranmission into my 97 el fairmont. would the car be able to run since im running el motor and eb transmission wont the ecu flip out and get confused?

cheers

Can't see there being to much trouble with the Eb box, they are very much the same only little differences on the inside. You could run an Au box if you wanted.
