Hey my old mans got a ba falcon, its has two sets of keys one set can start the car fine, the other will start the car but then it will stall and if u turn the key again nothing. If u get the other set it will start. The central locking no longer works if that makes a difference(which im asumming does). Some f#ckwit tried and failed to break into it, so now he locks/unlocks with the key. Any ideas?

If it starts & then stalls with one key, it sounds like the immobilizer is kicking in. The Ba's have a coded key don't they? Has the spare key ever worked?

Cheers

i had my ba reflashed by ford once when i updated the icc to an xr one along with the doodah under the icc (bem?) i only had one key with me and that got encoded with everything. when i tried using my spare key, it would start then stall. apparently the key gets codes from about 5 different places as you turn it, and it needs three correct codes to run. my fuel and engine codes were ok, but one of the computer codes wasnt so it stalled out. id say your car has been reflashed at some point, using only one key

Yeah, talked to my dad about it, he said he took it to the local mechanic to get the central locking fixed but the guy couldnt fix it and thats when the spare stopped working. So id say he flashed it or something. The mech did say to my old man to take it to ford but my old man thinks they'll rip him off.

what happens when you try to use the central locking? could just be a stuffed actuator. ford charge like a wounded bull to fix that which is easy to do yourself. if you can get that sorted, then ford should be able to flash your car for about 50$ or so to get both keys working.
