g'day

Im thinking about getting the 4480's for my EL falcon and a highflow cat. I already have a 2.5" catback exhaust on. I was just wondering would i notice any difference in power, like would it pull more or... yeah.

thanks. 8-)

I have a set, and they do give you more mid range to top end power. This is in an 88EA.

my tune length 4480 paceys seem to have given me quicker high end revs, i think something like advance headers would be better at low revs but with mods i think the paceys are the goods

does any one know what rev these are tuned for?

as it is my understanding that tuned length pipes are tuned for one specific rev point.

im not sure, but i do know that tuned length extractors work a lot better with a supercharger than normal extractors. not sure why.

You are correct that tuned pipes can only be tuned for a specific rev point.

They are usually tuned for the rpm figure at max torque on a stock engine.

i was under the impression that tuned length headers/extractors had the exact same pipe length for every chamber.....

Headers are just bits of pipe/tube that are aranged in such a way that they flow better than the original cast-iron manifold.
Extractors, do just that, at a certain RPM, with a certain cam profile..etc....
actually extract the exhaust gases all the way from in the cylinder, a scavenging effect. They (the tubing/piping & collectors) are usually arranged differently than headers.
If you want to see top notch extractors, look at F1 cars and the like, made and designed in laboratry conditions.

End of rant.

I got quoted $540 for the Pacey Comps fitted, and $300 for the high flow cat which i think is a bit of a rip and another $100 because he has to make up some pipe for the high flow cat.
