Nah, definately arn't. There low and midrange. Talk to Pacemaker, talk to the Pacemaker resellers, that's what they all told me!

ive got a cat back system on my car and low end torque is a bit of a miss but round 2500rpm the thing is a beast up untill the redline. look at getting an aftermarket cam depending on budget you can fit a stage 2 cam without have to change lifters etc>>>>

Well after a bit more driving, I think the fact that my muffler has s**t itself when the extractors were fitted. It sounds horrid, and quieter, that might be why I think it has less power.

I'm not sure how the 4480's are designed, but from a bit more driving, it does feel a little more high end. Seems it doesn't run out of puff after 4,000rpm. It does "feel" a little lower in power in the low range, ie put my foot down going around a corner and it doesn't slide as much.

I went back to the shop today to have a chat, and they even said they noticed my car was heaps quieter with the extractors on. I think thats due to my muffer. They had this lovely little lukey on the shelf that would be great! Its about half as long as my muffler at present, and straight through, i can see through it with no problems. They sold the pipe bender last week, so I might have to take it and get an exhaust shop to fit it. I think it will have an awesome note with a teeny tiny muffer like that :D

I've got the 4499 on the VCT mtr & besides giving a sound they perform well on the h/way with more grunt than the stock headers. The 4480 ext look as if they are the the same total length as the 4499's only the route to the collector looks longer with te middle pipes.

what headers should a person get if they are looking for low rand power. e.g when you put the foot down from start?

because they are not a competion header..

they are too small... go do a little research on headers. then make an informed judgment

I did the test with a cold engine, should it of been warm first?

Thats not the only difference.
pipe length is different. the 4499 are 6 into 2 into 1
the 4480 are 6 into 3 into 1.

what is the best depends on what you want out of them

Hi all.

I got my pacie comps fitted today. Already had a 2 1/2" cat back system. I have a high flow filter, and a mandral 3" intake, AU XR snorkle.

Should I be able to feel a power increase? I can't, and I actually think it goes worse. The car even sounds like crap and is HEAPS quieter than it used to be. :(

To be honest i'm deeply upset with the investment at the moment. I hope the ECU learns it all, and i get my power increase that i was kind of expecting, and a decent exhaust note.

you probably wont notice a whole lot of difference, unless your absolutely hammering along, the power gain from what i noticed wasnt anything spectacular with a better air intake, and paceys/2.5" but it should be more responsive than it was before.. (ie time it takes the car to move faster, from when you plant your foot should be shorter) it will also take the ecu a week or two to adjust to the changes, depending how much you drive..

as far as the sound goes, when they are first fitted, they sound disapointing quiet and crap... the car will sound completely different in about 2 weeks-a month, the sound is dependant on normal exhaust buildups like carbon in the exhaust system, once its run in - it will sound alot better.

back to the power increases, as i said they wont be anything special...the idea behind a better intake, and exhaust isnt to make the car go faster or harder, its to have better continual flow and less restrictions, to work in conjuction with other mods like cam, headwork etc etc, you might notice perhaps a 5-10% difference after the intake and exhaust are done, but when other mods are performed to your car ie a cam, it will magnify that 10% to say %15,

the basic principle i believe in making a car perform better (anyone correct me if im wrong) is creating a car with least perfomance restrictions possible.. wether its restriction due to not enough of air, fuel, pressure, combustion, spark, poor gear ratios, too much weight, too much backpressure or not enough, too much loss to the driveline, engine components too hot etc etc

by fitting your air intake, and exhaust you have eliminated some of the air flow restrictions and some of the excessive backpressure restrictions, thats only two boxes you've crossed off the list out of 100's of items you could improve on, dont be too disheartened :P
