how would you shield it from the heat? are heat shields really that affective...i was thinking of makin one that went from the back of the pod curving to the side of the fan and to the side of the car....would there be any point going that far?

You could block it off from the rest of the engine bay ... and cut a hole in yout bonnet above the pod filter and mesh that hole up (then paint the same colour as your bonnet.

Ripped the airbox out.

But the pipe isn't holding the best ... so I am going to my muffler shop on Friday and getting it done there ... also getting a 45 degree silicon bend as well off the throttle body.

just don't do what a mate did with his XG & an exposed pod - it wasn't secured, and rubbed itself through the air/con electrical wires, as well as the actual a/c gas pipes, expelling all the gas from them :? so make sure its secured!

I have seen vents the dip down below the bonnet line ... and create a duct straight to the filter and/or airbox.

One good one I have seen ... for a Honda though ... was created by Cyber Motorsports ... it's cut down into the bonnet ... and the opening of the duct was right in front of the pod ... with the pod sealed/shielded from the rest of the engine bay

I can't tell with mine ... my exhaust is loud enough as it is ... I can hear it suck when I rev it while standing next to the car ... and with the bonnet open.
