Hi Guys
My car is dead :(
I have a EL gli
Swapped the dash loom with a NL loom
Done the climate control conv
Replaced BEM - now wont start - just beeps at me 5 times - whilst the smartlock light flashes rapidly - when i try and start it
I dont know if its programming the key in or not
Ive programmed the Keypad in - that works
But i leave the key in on the ON position for an hour - come back the smartlock light is on constant - not flashing - but it wont start just a click from where the relays are.
Ive swapped the BEM - still same prob
Was working fine before replacing the loom
Any suggestions?

Yep its in park
From what the document says it isnt programming succesfully by the solid lite smartlock light - but it says i should still be able to start it
So
a) why is the programming unsucessful>
and b) it says i should be able to start it - but i cant?

Don't tell me ur battery's flat, I recall ur hazards were staying on, slap it on charge whilst waiting the hour and see what it does.

you said you had your battery charging while you were waiting for it to program.

does that mean it was all connected up with the ignition on and battery charging? I may be wrong and would like to be corrected if i am but doesnt charging the battery while it is still in the car connected and ignition on fry things???

i was always under the assumption that it would fry the computer and blow fuses.

should be right,
You'll get AC ripple that can interfere with some circuits,
However the battery would act as a nice big capacitor and smoothen things out,
Essentially Yes, you should disconnect the terminal whilst charging, but who does.

So what happens when you turn IGN on ?? Does the light flash 5 times in 2 sets, then stays on or then flashes very quickly ???
