I have a difficults decision to make in the next coming months....

The thing is i want a BA XR6T, i always have and now they are getting cheaper and cheaper so i am looking at getting a loan and getting one but my mate has just bought a 50th Special 2006 R1 and recons i should buy my brothers 2001 GSXR 600, its in great condition with only 12,000km on the clock and he will through in a Helmet, jacket, gloves dragon jeans and maybe 12months rego for $8,000 so i am thinking about that as well.
But also a guy recons i should get a loan and do up my ED XR6, so i was thinking a quick respray and a Turbo on the side of it as well as other little things....
Now here is the thing i dont know what to do.... maybe i could buy my bros bike and do up my car or try and get a BIG loan and get an XR6T & my bros bike??????

Your thoughts please people

Griffo

i'd personally go for the XR6T if you can, they're just a better car, faster, better made, and hey, you're getting a basically new car rather than doing up one that is getting on a bit.

you probably don't have to worry about the bike if you're getting the XR6T, so don't unless you're a bike person.

dude i reckon you should go the turbo, or the bike, if you buy the bike, no matter what you do to the ED, it will still feel slow compared to the bike and you're still in an older car, enjoy the comforts of modern cars, and the XR6T can keep up with 250cc bikes stock, it'll even pull away after 140km/h.

For mine, it's either way, i just don't see the point of spending so much money on the ED, then you'll be driving along and see a turbo and think, well i guess i'll have to wait a little longer for one of those...

sorry but i'm pretty biased as i own a BA MKII Turbo, but it's your decision in the end, and you asked for opinions!!!

definately the xr6t option. Probably will end up the most reliable and cost effective solution, plus its a car that you said you have always wanted.

I think you know what you want...

just dont throw yourself into too deep a loan.

your only 18, not like you need a really fast car just yet.

personally, i would try never to borrow more than 5k to buy a car at this stage in my life.

If you ever want to own your own house, do it soon, all vehicles are money drains, wait and do it all later, you DONT have to keep up with the Jones.

as much as i agree with PhantomLord, I also believe that getting a house is the best thing to do. When you have a house as collateral you can get a loan for anything! lol. Do up the car you have... and get a house. IMO its the best decision that you can make.

Get the bike..........

The premiums alone for the car will blow your mind.

I was quoted $2300 from RACV just for a BA XR6

Buy the bike. Car's are slow in comparison. Modding bikes is cheap. Add a pipe for noise, clear indicators, a tinted screen and a fender eliminator and your done. I wish I bought a decent bike before I got into cars.

I just paid a $1300 premium for a non sports 650cc SV 650s. My excess is $1500. Bikes and cheap insurance dont mix.

I fail to see why this is in the 6 cylinder workshop. Sure it has something about a E series 6 cyl and a BA XR6t...BUT it has nothing to do with fixing the car or a new mod to the motor or anything....ITS for offtopic conversation not 6 cylinder workshop.....

BTW Sell the car and get the BA and no bike..

or

Work the heap and buy a bike. The bike. A GSXR600 with all the riding gear for 8k is a steal. Think about what the gear alone is worth. The GSXR is a nice bike too.

There isnt really a such thing as a quick respray....it takes time.
