Hi all,

I thought it would be interesting to have a thread where people can post their performance times and mods. Might help newbies like me to get a feel for which mods are effective and which are not.

I suggest we use a format similar to the following. Please be realistic with your times, eg not downhill in the middle of winter with air temps of 4 degrees and no rear seat :)

The focus here is obviously the inline 6, but if V8 owners want to post then that's fine. Just make sure you note that it's a V8!

CAR:
1996 EL Fairmont Ghia, Series 1
255,000 kms (no rebuild)
4.0 I6, Auto

PERFORMANCE:
8.5 secs 0-100 km/h (one person, half tank of fuel, standard unleaded)
Unknown 1/4 mile

PERFORMANCE MODS:
2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, cat-back, two mufflers, rear resonator
Electronic shift kit

Please disable signatures as well so we can fit more results to a page ... easier to browse through them this way.

Let us know what you've got!
Cheers, Tim

Hmm..

Ok Last Ford that was killed by a Stoopid Honda driver..

Pretty standard..

EF sII XR6 Manual
I6 4.0l

K&N panel filter, stainless braided brake lines, EBC greens, Castrol DOT5.1 from Japan,
2 Cans of V in driver.
a little suprise from ALTED under the bonnet.

OK I had a stage 3 cam but car was destroyed before I could post any times down the drag or circuit.
BUT with 4 boys in the car so roughly +400 odd kg's a full tank of juice, 0-100 7.6 seconds (on mobile phone timer)

the stage 1 ALTED cam I got to post some times with though as follows..

¼ mile - 14.7 PB and 14.9's all day long.
Eastern Creek - 1.97's all day long. (pre cam mods I was running 2.05's)
