hey all, just went and checked my oil and when i pulled the dipstick i could smell petrol, i opened the oil cap and the same thing? Any idea of what this could be caused by?

not sure about cars, but in a diesel id be leaning towards a leaking injector

it usually means either your running to rich or have a leaky/sticky injector..

i might need to get it dyno tuned, seems to be running rich im not getting good mileage at all.

will be tommorow, i know it isnt good and i dont plan on leaving it like that. I will be getting dyno'd in 2 weeks so ill be changing it again just before the tune. just wondering what it will do to the engine? As i havnt checked my oil for a while and dont know how long its been in there.

im not trying to be a d**k but its most probably a leaky injector

it will dilute the oil and then the oil will be diluted and be "useless" ive had it happen on a skyline it threw a turbo out due to it
