here is a dyno showing results of an EF-EL falcon power outputs. These are the true readings. 99% of dyno results on these forums are way over the mark. www.chiptorque.com.au

OK, so those dyno readings are true? What makes other dynos incorect??

110rwkw with a cam, chip, extractors and exhaust? I would be MIGHTY p****d off if thats all my car did. Seing it ran 108rwkw stock on more than one dyno and now runs over 142rwkw with no chip and 15:1 AFR, Im more than willing to say those graphs above may be a little out.

have to agree with Walkinshaw.
and 15rwkw gain from full exhaust, cam and chip seems a little low too...
hopefully its all relative!

Only a 15rwkw gain with cam, extractors, exhaust AND a chip? I don't know about you but i'd expect at least that without the chip. doesn't seem to show the chip in a good light does it?

edit: either that or the car was rooted in the first place

I'd expect atleast that just from a cam..

I thought the addition of a sticker anywhere on the car gave a minimum increase of 40hp!

keeping in mind that cam is smallish (smaller than what most of us put in anyway), that dyno isnt bad. I think it is slightly understated so that it represents a minimum rwkw/gain with these mods which is good IMO - too many saying "you could get ...".

If you add 10% to those figures you get

Stock 105.6
Exhaust and chip 116.6
Exhaust chip and cam 121.1

that to me would look about typical (being realistic). Maybe a good engine will get another 10 or so rwkw putting at around 130 for an exhaust, chip and mild cam. That is easily enough to pull 150rwkw on some dynos

but who here really goes for a mild cam??

I know I want the best power increase for $$ outlay, most would I assume..

...people who dont want there car to idle like mine, people who tow, cars with auto gearboxes, whoever pays the petrol bill, have to share the car with the missus.... the list goes on. Not everyone wants a big a** cam.

If you want the best power increase for $ then go get a crow or surecam race cam. It will cost the same as any other cam and im sure the dyno will report awsome $/rwkw. With 240+ deg @ 50 thou you might need to turn up base idle a touch though....

Cam and chip packages are under $1000 is good for anone who doesnt want to have to pick a cam. Or get the chip + wade regrind for abut $750.

It holds alot of truth in it though... the cam change in that car must be a pretty small cam, say xr6 or similar but the rest seems on par... My mates EF with extractors and exhaust pulled 108rwkw... pretty much spot on and very similar to the suggested 105 on that graph

It is NO USE trying to get a roll on dyno to give "true power readings"
Find a local dyno, and use it to COMPARE power readings before and after mods, and even with your mates cars that use the same dyno.
