Hey all .. can someone please post me a pic of a EF/EL tickford XR6 rocker cover? ..

Picked up EF XR6 motor last night... Its genuine, has the tickford stamp on the head, But the EF XR6 it came out of, Looks like the clown that had it had sanded it back and repainted it.. so would like to try and get it looking origriial again .

cheers.

Bottom ends are all the same, differences are from head up.

Which is all a Tickford engine is....

Someone told me they have a double row timing chain, could be wrong though.

thats a factory looking EF XR6 motor , even the rocker cover!

the EF had a painted red rocker cover. without and badges or tickford wings ect.

the el had a painter rocker cover with a badge stuck to it.

the EB-ED had a red rocker cover with the tickford wings cast into it.

i have been told the bottom end is the same. but. the XR6 motor has a grey sump and the std one has a black sump. dont know why! may have been fitted by tickford after somthing was done to the bottom end?

Do you know if the timing chain is single or double row?

Now, another question, Im going to change that EF XR6 motor back to the dizzy setup ... will the ED ECU run it without the BBM? .. just the ed intake? ..

From what I understand, you can run it with a dizzy off the ED ECU.

You should be able to keep the BBM though. But you will need an RPM switch to activate it.

Or as you mentioned you could put an ED intake on it. But why not keep the BBM if you can.
