Could someone post a pic for me of the distributer in a eb for me please. I have a feeling mines been put in funny.

Also after retarding the timing slightly the car pings less. But also is slow as f**k and feels like its missing and flat spotting.
Im thinking new plugs and leads are on the cards.
Im going to get some xr6 plugs but what sort of leads should I get. Im hoping the plugs will stop the pinging as they are 5.11 plugs

Sorry to jump in here but which way should XH go? And what will the issue be if it is facing the wrong way?

Cheers

depends if it has the log manifold or bbm??

really the position is only in a different spot to for the tfi to clear the el aircon compressor..
if the engine is at tdc on compression stroke and the dizzy is on the no 1 cyl it dont really matter where it sits

Dunno what a tfi thingo is but the grey plug on it is facing the front left.
Just thought it might somehow cause the car to run s**t.
Seeing how much a difference the timing can make.

Today I took out my plugs to look at them. Plug 1 was white. Plug 2 was light orange? Plug 3,4 and 5 had the same white ends as the 1st and plug 8 was really dirty? Like greasy s**t scattered on the white ceramic.
Dunno what that means.
Anyway she's still pinging but seemed a lot quieter and the engine felt more responsive.
Leaking coolant from the headgasket on drivers side near cyl 6.
Not alot needs say 500ml a week.
Not good.
