I would just about bet my left nut on it being the coolant hoses running from the heater tap to the converter as they will more than likely run behind the head and rub thru i know it happened to me. it was just a bit of coolant at first, then when i left work one day afta a s**t day, ripped a burnout and the hose blew because of the sudden burst of pressure. Check the cheap and easy stuff first.

Yes a heater tap will be in the engine bay as it controls the hot engine water flowing through the heater core in the cabin. The controls being electronic such as in automatic climate control still controls the heater tap as it opens it to let the engine water flow into the heater core to make it warmer in the cabin when a higher temperature is selected on the climate control panel.
