hey guys, a couple of weeks i bought a pod and mounted it into my airbox in my EF, it didnt make that much diff in noise which i was looking for, so today i put it in my dads BA XT and it made a HUGE difference in induction noise. i was just wondering why it makes so much more noise in the BA and not in the EF. Is this common of EFs not to have much induction noise with pods, i think i heard this somewhere...

thanks in advance.

1. welcome to fordmods

2. your a d**k. the engine bay came with a square air filter for a reason. i'd say the ba might be getting a s**t load more air going in, perhaps the pods not on right? but ive heard they do make a bit more noise on the induction. if you think a pod will make you machine in to a giant killing rocket go for it, but dont yell about it.

the ones who have tried it said its no good, and the rest (and ones like me) just can't be f**k

again welcome

are you running the std ef intake piping???

cos that has baffles in it that reduce induction noise (youll have to look underneath the big plastic bit to see them) get an el intake and it "should" get louder.

p.s. y do you want your car to sound like a hoover?

i once drove down the road just running off the T/B was fun for about 10 mins then airbox went back on and has stayed that way, get a good K&N panel, definatly made a small improvement on my car

1. thanks for the welcome, but ive prob been here longer than you, i just dont post s**t all the time. mate all i wanted was a better induction noise, like u did with ur "speedholes" thread, i also think think its to do with the BA sucking more air in, i just wanted to know for sure, and to know there wasnt something wrong with my car.

yeah its the standard intake piping, lol i want more of a roar than a hoover noise.

come on guys, give the kid a break.

sure he chucked on a pod on his car, its his car so he can do what he wants (as long as it aint a pink led monster tacho). he just wanted some info on his car. sure he could have searched, and probably would have found a 'near' answer, but hey, most people dont read the stickys or search when they first register.

sppondog, your best with going with a good quality aftermarket flat filter and an extra cold air intake

omg what the f**k is up with everyones attitued lately.

fiftyone your a C**k head.

if him making this post angers u so much click the X in the very top right of this window.
simple.

i've ran a pod on my stock ef snorkel and my au snorkel and cant hear any difference in sound really ey.

and ya prob right in saying the ba makes allowed noise cause its sucking in more air.

on my mates n14 he got a s/s intake made up but decreased the diamiter or the pipe to make it have more of a sucking sound and it worked sounded awes lol.
pretty sure it did nothing for performance but meh its what he wanted.

as for a performance difference in a pod and a pannel.

i rek theres no diff from the 30buck repco jobbie lol.

that fact that your so quick to tell him he's a d**k......

different people have different views.
just because you personally think pods are a waste of time, doesnt mean everyone does.
its almost proven they make no difference performance wise, but there is definently a difference in sound quality.
some people like the induction noise, some dont.
its personal preference.

Why is it that we always try to make a scene, go to OFF- TOPIC & trash talk there.
......................................................................

The turbo makes more induction noise because of the volume of air its sucking in.

people whats wrong with youz! pod/pannel there just filters, they don't make that much of a differents, I know I've had both! the poor kid just wanted some advise no need to jump down his thorat! and spoondog when you box the pod it will cut the noise down, but when I made a custom air feed on top of my air box the induction noise increased.but can't really hear it now through the xzorst.
