hey guys need some input, ive got a mate with a police ecu and was thinkin bout putting in my ef, would i benefit from that? and wat is the actual diff? :D

I think the Police ECU simply alters the g'box change points, and wont allow 4th gear below 60 kph. Apart from that, no difference (I'm pretty sure)

Don't think so ... I am pretty sure all of the police vehicles are autos

also revs out in each gear more, no speed limiter,

be better of with a ticcky ecu

well they made manual tickfords, so its a pretty safe assumption there are manual tickford ECU's!

Regulations state that all police vehicles must be automatic. This is so they can safely use the radio while driving.

Just make sure that its also an EF and not an EL ecu or else you'll be running into problems...

I'm not sure if there were many ex-cop EFs (well in WA anyway).

my old el was an ex cop 6cyl and im really not sure if mine held 3rd till 60km/h i dont think it did,but it certainly held gears a hell of a long time and there was no speed limiter.
