I have recently discovered that my 1993 ford falcon ED futura has blown a head gasket and the mechanic recommended that if i wanted to hold on to my car and do it up (performance wise) that whilst he has the engine open that it would be wise to get a port and polish. He seems to recon it will make a s**t load of power difference (so straight away im keen regardless of the price....around the $1200 mark)

My question is how much of a difference will it make? Will it be noticable? and is it worth it?

cheers
Alex

Check out that thread - there's info about doing it and the results.

I got a similar improvement in overall performance by doing my std EF head as fitting the cam gave me - I was well pleased - and the fellow that started that thread also seemed to get a decent result.
