Did a head gasket last week, got the head checked for hardness and its soft as, the previouse owner must of got it hot at some stage. Picked up an new in the box original ford blank head from the local engine recon shop for $780 thats including macining ready to fit back on the engine. have got the blank head for the weekend before it goes back in for the valves and springs to be fitted, I have a die grinder carbide burs and will pick up some flap wheels and cartridge wheels tomorrow. Any advice on what to or not ot do, Iv'e got a fair idea on what to do ie port match intake ports, blend valve seats to bowl, smooth out small radius, rough finish intake ports, polish exhaust ports and de shroud valves in combustion chambers. Just what to know other peoples experiences and learn from there successes or mistakes.

Got the combustion chambers done Saturday, Blended in the valve seats and de-shrouded the area around the valves then polished the chamber. Lots more involved than I thought, took 6hrs all up bit happy with the results. Pictures #1 Before, #2 Blend valve seats, #3 polised chambers.
