Hey guys, I have recently put a new rebuilt engine in my ea (2000 k's or less ago) and I also had a new exhaust system fitted with a high flow cat. And now at idle my car runs fine but once warm if I beginning to accelerate even whilst not in gear it begins to tick and it sounds like its coming from the car but I'm not 100% sure any ideas?

Yeah, it's had a service and a tune, it's only recently started doing it

My car does it too. Generally under load at low revs. I have put it down to the steel tube that makes up my extractors having thinner guage steel than the stock cast ones, allowing the combustion/valve noise to escape.

Well I've had these extractors for a while and its the first time it's happened, but I just went back to the exhaust place and they assured me that's it's not the exhaust but they reckon the ticking is the primary's and secondaries air flow fighting each other, but I know what that sounds like but this sort of sounds like injector clicking but underneath the car, that's why I'm thinking it's the cat
