Here is a link to an alternative fuel site that has been running for a few years now. As you browse through you will come across a circuit that normalizes and slightly leans out the fuel delivery via the oxy sensor. It contains a readout of fuel rich/lean states in realtime and can be returned to normal operation by switch. If anyone is interested the link as follows;

http://better-mileage.com/index.html

The steam injection aspect of this site would be a very interesting implimentation for the I6

the water injection is old, my grandpa used to do it, gee 40 years ago, in his old Internation v8 truck when carting grain. Had a small tank and hose into his inlet manifold somewhere, small tap in the cabin and would open it up slightly and drip drip drip... the details of it I don't know, was wrapped around the exhaust I think to heat it up, but he would save considerable fuel on a 500 km round trip.

Ahhh... reaches out and cracks knuckles... already got the water injection sorted. But coming on at 3PSI fuel economy isnt really a concern, lol.

Some interesting reads on there - i'd recommend the article on oxy sensors for anyone interested... HEGO readings are very interesting to watch whilst you cruise around.

Hehehe, generating steam and pumping into PCV a very cool idea...

I'm going to give the circuit to the oxy sensor circuit (minus the steam injection implementation) a go just to see what if the results are inline with whats been published,

On another subject, it's common knowledge that Jaycar have a kit that provides an LED reading of rich/lean states in realtime. From memory its a cheap and basic kit that would be an excellect diagnostic tool for those out their experiencing fuel economy issues. Maybe at the very least eliminating or confirming whether the injectors or hego are to blame. Also to monitor rich state at cold idle, throttle, shift point, cruise and load.

I used such a kit when tuning a throttle body, analogue controlled injection system on a hemi-6 with great success a few years back.

I imagine those kits are a simple voltimeter calibrated for 100mV to 1V.....
