what is the normal power output from an ef6cyl? also am looking at getting an ef that has full exhaust system and a jmm dev2 cam its getting 195hp round the 150kw at the treads is this any good or should i keep with my idea of a v8

normal output from the auto 6 is around 140 hp at the wheels.

that dev2 falcon prolly made that power figure on JMM's dyno.....

if its manual It'll always be up on kws compared to autos.
For a stocko youd be looking at around 110-120rwkw, depending on kms and condition. (manual)
Add good extractors and a full 2.5" mandrel bent zorst you'd add bout 10 or so rwkw to that.

dev 2 and yould get 150 at the treads???
then get a dev 5 and you will be doing 590rwkw eaysly...
im in a f@*kd mood so excuse me being a C***, but where on the face of this planet did you get those results for a dev2???
if i were you ild buy a vn commodore v6

my s**t old EF GLI manual six with a cat back system makes 175.7hp at the wheels at around 355,000km that was at.
not too shabby pretty much stock.

Thats at the engine, not the wheels, for a new car :)

Thats certainly not shabby. Should be doing better 1/4 miles with that power figure though, i ran a 15.7 with 141hp behind an auto.

it has done 180k the guy said its set up more for power across the whole range rather than up or or down low. i just want something half desent to tow a trailer to the track

standard engine has pretty good low down torque, great for towing. dont worry about power figures too much if you want to just tow stuff to the track. Mines on LPG and still spins the wheels at the lights taking off and mines done a few kays LOL and its still the original engine... 180k just run in LOL

yeah my clutch is a s**t ea one, and its got a glased flywheel and its pretty much FOOKED, so when i get that exeedy one in there and do some cleaning up of the old girl ill see if i can better 15.5 :)

well 2 weeks b4 induct sold his ef wagon 4.0l 5 spd it cracked 152.3rwkws!! with 166000kms on the clock extractors exhaust k&n pannel and a stage3 crow cam and vernier gear

so 150kws is able 2 b acheived with a standard ecu and on a ef which i didnt think could happen lol
