Hey hey,

I need replace the power steering high pressure hose as its leaking. I'm told that there are two different types, a normal ford 6 cyl hose and then theres the variable steering hose. Just confirming that all EL Fairmont ghia's 97 have the variable steering (you know where the faster you go the less responcive the steering is).

Cheers

A bit late for you but it should have Speed Sensitive Steering. The only difference is the rack end because the modulator is attached to the rack there. The difference may be just the mounting or pipe angles. Might pay to take your old one along just incase you can make do with the standard one.

BTW where is it leaking? If it is the pump end then a cheap fix is to install a rubber O ring to seal the inner to the housing. I found a perfect match is inside an air line coupling.
