On my EF Falcon, I noticed that the plastic type pulley that the timing belt goes onto is cracked, can that be changed?
Can Ford replace that pulley or do i have to change the power steering unit ?
The pulley looks like it is pressed on, doesnt look like a job i can do, or can i?

The pulley can be replaced, but is a special tool to do the job. A normal pulley remover will crack the plastic one. A power steering specialist should be able to replace it though, although if the pulley is cracked it might be a good idea to replace the whole pump.

sorry to be picky but its not a timing belt....

a genuine pulley is about $45. probably be worth getting someone in the know to check out why it has cracked. possibly just due to wear or a worn belt or a faulty pump. either way you wouldnt want to replace it only to have it hapen in a years time.

yea true ..
Which is why i wanna get a specialist or Ford to look at it..
The crack is on the side, the lip facing the radiator side, its not a bad crack. But we all know what sort of damage it could do to an engine if something does go wrong..
