went to start my car this morning, and nothing... Did nothing.. I assumed it was a flat battery, that I'd left a light on or something.. So I charged the battery (tis a fairly new battery). Went to start the car, dash came on, ready.. But nothing.. It doesn't even try to start. Can't even get to that point. I have a couple of ideas what it is, but I would like other people ideas.

Oh, its an auto.

Any suggestions?

inhibitor switch on the tranny not telling it that it's in park or neutral, therefor it won't start.

loose connection on starter motor or wire's burnt through or something maybe.

fusable link blown?

yeah tranny switch from my experience. have you got a voltmeter to check exactly what your battery voltage is? I have had batterys die suddenly recently. check electrolyte levels too. I have been able to get trans switch to work by moving the selector across the range a few times but it needed replacement asap.
