When I go to turn a corner and i put the brakes on, the car keeps pushing me along and changes down gears late. What is causing this. Is it because the car is idling high?

Hmmm... almost sounds like what happens when the torque converter clutch is locked up...

What happens if you drive along in 3rd, then try to stop?
