gday,
just need to know if you can mount a dizzy out of an eb on an ef engine? is there just a plate or something covering up the hole in the block for the dizzy.

Yes its the same block in the EF there will be a cam angle sensor there, just pull that out and slot in the dizzy. Easy as. I put a dizzy in my AU motor.

People (including myself) use distributors to 'simplify' the ignition systems. You sometimes see people using old x-series distributors with lpg setups so they dont need an efi computer at all. I swapped to dizzy just because it was easier to wire up to the engine management system I was running.

Just to answer my own question -
remove spark plugs
pull on sensor while turning engine by hand - it'll come out when it's on the right spot (TDC on 1 I thnk)
