I'm going to chuck my motor into a mates car as he's lending it to me to drive.
We're putting it in tomorrow arvo, but we just need to know if there's any snags we'll come across?

I'm also grabbing the 3spd auto off the fairlane and bolting that up to the ED motor, will this work? I have all the the bellhousing gear with it.

From what I've heard the motors are practically identical so we take the fairlane one out and just replace it with the ed motor, plug all the wires/hoses/everything back in and it'll run perfect?

Or are there differences between the two?

I really need to know as tomorrow is my only opportunity to do it and I'm carless at the moment, so any information will help me greatly!

Cheers.

Well, sump is the same, K frame is the same, the Bell housing should fit as the 4 speed one fits EA/EB/ED, inlet manifold is same and injector rail.

Unless someone has run into a snag before, I can't see why not? Maybe if you look-up XR-lane on here and ask him, he is a wizz with Fairlanes :D
