Hey lads,

As some of you may know, my stock exhaust system has a wee rust problem that makes the whole thing rattle, and me very red-faced at the lights.

Anyway, I have diagnosed the problem, and it is the resinator/muffler directly behind the rear bumper.

My question is, would it be cheap, or could I do it myself, to have this thing buggered off, and put a straight through on that section until I get my 2.5 system?

Also would it be legal? And what performance/volume differences, if any, would there be?

Cheers.

P.S. Where are the cheap exhaust places in Brisbane? That mob at moss street (across from autobarn) wanted 300 off the shelf and 340 installed for a 2.5 Lukey system.

Lol, I'm so used to hearing stories of our members getting Lukeys installed for under 300, so that's kind of what my heart is set on now, hehe.

But yeah, I should have a new 2.5 next month. Just if there was an easy fix to stop the dislodged, rusted bit of steel in the rear resinator, would be good.

Just cut it off and drive around with the shortened tailpipe, preferable cut it where it angles towards the ground.

DO NOT ATTEMPT IT YOURSELF, chances are you'll find a way to weld something to something its not meant to be welded to. Or you'll wle dyour hands together, somehow, seeing as you tend to achieve the almost impossible.

Anyways 300 sounds alright for a lukey, depends who you go to and if you pay cash etc.

you dont need a welder to fit the exhaust, they squeeze together and then are clamped together.
Jack beedhams in redcliffe said 220 fitted for a 2.5 inch system cat back. cheapest i have found so far. mitch where is men at work? LOL

Why bother? It shouldn't cost more than $20.00, but you could rather put that towards a decent system...
