On ef el they have the valve that opens closes on vaccum that opens the bottom section on the intake manifold if its is it open when vaccum or closed i was thinking of having it always open or closed if it will give more response

It is closed with vacuum.

The length change is controlled by the ECU and it swaps from long to short at about 3800rpm.

The fuel and spark timing is mapped around the different length runners.

The only thing you will achieve is to lose some low end torque. You will get no benefits anywhere.

Yeah cheers didnt think i would as still same amount of air going into the throttle body
