EF Headbolts, not that it really will matter all too much seeing as the blocks and heads are the same on both EF and AU.

I have heard au bolts have a larger head and need to be ground down to fit an ef head.

AU head bolts do have a larger head on them...but only thicker, not wider. Fits just fine.

Haven't been able to buy "EF" spec headbolts for quite some time.......10 years or so now......they were replaced with AU spec ones.

May be a silly question, as ive never had any experience with au head gaskets. but if you take the head off can you reuse the head gasket or does it ruin the gasket like when taking the head off with the older style gaskets (EA-EL)?

AU MLS head gaskets are available after market. You can buy a vrs with them in it. Head bolts are normally sold separate to vrs

AU head bolts are $5.60 each retail but you might be able to find a set after market for MUCH less.
It doesn't sound like much but needing 14 of them is expensive.

Part number for the bolts is AU 6065 C and the Head Gasket ER 6051 A $88.00 RETAIL.

My AU metal head gasket cost me $97 trade, goes for $130 retail from bursons.
Sound to dear? What torque do u do up AU head bolts with AU hdgskt in EF motor?
Ive read some where u do up ef head bolts more, n the turns afterwards are less, ie 40nm with 2x90 deg turns. And AU headbolts are like 35nm with 2x120 deg turns?

TRUE/FALSE?

cheers

Considering it isn't a copper head gaskit, I would imagine it's a throw away item. I too have not had any experience with the AU gaskit, but the next time i need to do a head gaskit, hopefully not for a good long while, i will be using one.

Cheers
