AFAIK there's no communication from the computer to the rack ?? Power steering switch. The ECU does indeed like to know what's going on with the steering. As more load on p/s pump will require EEC to increase revs slightly... which it does.

Ah yes. I always thought the extra revs at hard lock were from the extra load on the PS pump or something.
