Okay im a bit of a noob at this or its because its 3:35AM on a saturday morning. I just want to clarify something here...i want to learn more about the engine and i actually want to change the cam and maybe the head myself...one day. Anyways the first image is just the rocker cover taken off...i get that bit. Does that mean the second picture shows the head where the pistons sit? and third picture...is that the bottom end which includes the sump?

sorry im still confused with the engine part....btw head gasket sits between bottom end and head.

sorry to go off topic and nice to hear that your engine is slowly coming along =D

phong =P~

519's a pretty small cam. You will need to find a generous dyno to get 150 out of it.

one of the builders up here rkns it will get close
the compression is raised as of th pistons and a skim on the head so they rkn that most of the power will come out of that

thats the cam they recommend for the auto...anythin else they dont think it will idle too well

I highly doubt it, but if it goes on a generous dyno you never know.

Ive seen a couple of cars go on the dyno here with larger crow cams and headwork. One pulled 140, the other 142. Id say if you matched that your doing very well, but as usual, depends on the dyno.

They are right as far as the auto goes.

i've only just looked breifly at the I6 head but.. as nice as it is the short side radius on the exhaust port has a nasty sharp bend in it. Much like the Ford 2L that I have had lots of experience with. A port here would definately be worth it. I'm getting mine done for sure. (haven't looked at intake port yet)

well all together it cost bout 3000...parts and labour
but in sayin that, im doin a heap of work myself...all the machining work is being done by pros...but me and my dad are puttin it together so...

with the power im chasing jmm will cost about 6000 for wat ive got...as a full engine rebuild so..work it out yourself...if you have the time to spend do it yourself...id not get someone else to do it...

i spose im lucky that my old boy works in a mine and only works 3 days a week so he can do a bit while im at work 5 days a week

but in sayin that ive spent 3 days cleaning everything up...from the bbm to the thermostat to sensors that are in the motor so...

this project has prob been over a couple of months...but well worth the experience!!

cant wait to have it in my car...going to be so much fun!

but in sayin that...the motor i pulled apart was in descent nick.....if ur head is f**k...prob guna cost u more!

as in porting...ive been told by a fair few engine rebuilders that its not required to do for wat im after...the head will flow good enuff!

believe wat u want..read wat u want to read...but inquire first b4 going ahead with anything!

the price it cost may be a little bit expensive...but ive gone with pretty good rebuilders, prob the best i could get up here and i cant fault there work so far so... make your own desicion dude!
