Hey guys!

Well i just bought a used ef 4l, cost $250! its in good nick nothin wrong with it but im afraid its gettin pulled apart for a rebuild!

i know wat im doin with the head...just no to sure on the bottom end...

ACL make a rebuild kit for the bottom end, but i was hopin for flat topped pistons but they dont make them for the 4l....

was wondering wat you guys rkn would be good to go with in the bottom end!

Its not goin to be a real high output, around 140-150 rwkws im hopin!

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

They are for AU 4.0's, so youll need au rods to suit the pin height in earlier engines.

Nope, youll have to try to find a wrecker who has a spare set or get a set of BA/F rods from ford.

Just check it all out with the engine builder or whoever is doing the machining before you buy anything.

What sort of compression ratio are you after?

More compression is good, too much is very bad.

What cam are you going to run. If you have a cam with lots of overlap you can run more compression.
