What of it??? You wouldn't know whether my financial position has improved any of late??? Isn't it enough to slag off at me on BoostedEgo's.net...now ya gotta bring your s**t here too??? Has your 21 year old d**k managed to make any kids yet...or are you still slumming it with mummy???
I asked a serious question/opinion...and so what, I like to do things differently....

Judging by your response, nothing has changed or you wouldnt have been so highly offended by my question.

Oh, and the other reason (not quite so specific to Holden V6) is to satisfy rego requirements its going to have to be same year or newer... so no Capri V6's for example!

Honestly, if you are going to go to the trouble of a different motor and gearbox, why not go a turbo barra and 6 speed?

Personally I'd rather see a Ford I6 in a VN than the other way round.

theres plenty of v6's out there to pick from, just depends what kind of figures you are looking at, dosent it? you could grab the 3.5L from mercedes, i know from experience that even in a car weighing at least 450-500kg more than a boxcar they are a real balltearer
or for the same money you could by 10 vn dunnydoors and put a decent motor out of the 10 f**k ones?

If you want to stay blue oval, look at the newer Mustangs - one of the import mobs might be able to bring in a 1/2 cut for you: `The 2005-2009 base Mustang is powered by Ford's cast iron block 4.0 L Cologne SOHC V6, replacing the 3.8 L Essex OHV V6 used in 2004 and older models. It produces 210 hp (157 kW) at 5300 rpm and 240 lb·ft (325 N·m) of torque at 3500 rpm and is mated to a standard Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission with Ford's 5R55S 5-speed automatic transmission available as an option. '

I think the newer ones have even more power, but 210 hp for stock isnt a bad starting point if u want to turbo..1/2 cuts can be cheaper than you think, and you get computer, dash, front end suspension etc, stuff you can either use or onsell to offset costs..

Some guys are making big power with turbo 6 mustangs in the states.

For me the ultimate V6 would be the engine from the Honda NSX. It is such a good package that to take the motor out of that thing and put it into any other car should result in the owner being put to death. Such is my soft spot for this beast.

Yep, you DO hear good things about NSX's - talked with a guy at a servo a little while ago had a really nice black one - he raved it up and understandably so - they look excellent..

VG30DETT (300zx), or VQ35DE or VQ30DET - 350z, Maxima........Front clips can be had for $2k to 3K, buy an import though, cost a lot less.

VG30DETT is a bit long in the tooth, but it is an amazing little motor.

Interesting topic.. i dunno about putting a V6 of any sort in an EA, but I'd put a 1UZ with ITB's in it if i had the money without hesitation

Each to their own, mate... nothing wrong with Aussie 6's, but nothing wrong with doing yer own thing...the world would be a boring ol place if we all drove the same car, same motor. Like I said, V6's aren't my cuppa, but got bored with ford 6's - hence me removing mine to make way for a 351...

Let the guy do his own thing...

If you're going to the trouble why not put an LSx?

If I wanted a substitute non ford engine it would be one of my first choices for bang for buck/weight.
