This is probably a retarded question, but with the drama's I had over the past 2 weeks with this car I thought I would double check with the Masters:
Changing the coolant level sensor and have put a new seal on it. I ran some Vasaline on the seal when I put it on the sensor and now I was thinking of running some on the outside of the sensor too when I place it in the res tank. Would this be advised or just throw it in dry?

The mechanic I used to get to do work on my cars used to put a light smear of water proof grease on them to help form a seal....Apparently it worked really well.

or use rubber grease as it will lubricate the seal and will not make it expand.....
