Hey all! I'm going to replace my starter motor tonight as it's on the way out. So do I have to take the intake manifold off or has anyone done it with it left on?
My "gut" tells me to take it off cause it looks like a prick to do with it on! But hey I might be wrong. Cheers, Sorry if this has been asked before I couldn't find anything.

can be done with the manifold on, but it's a prick of a job either way.

With the EB I have found unless your going underneath the only way to get it from the top with out being a pain is to take the airbox and hoses etc out of car so the throttle body is bare, a long 1/4 inch extenstion bar and a good ratchet spanner you can get the top bolt no dramas and and if your handy you can manuvere it to get the bottom one

hi, iv just installed my starter motor (taken the manifold off) theres some type of vacuum connection snapped.

OK, so i fixed it after all of that!

Attachment: File comment: t connector IMG_0208.JPG [ 104.1 KiB | Viewed 177 times ] i bought a t connector from masters 2 sides with 8mm barb's and one side with a 6mm barb. car drives like normal and im just happy for once something got fixed relatively cheap and easy!

i know you have already done it, but no need to remove the manifold, the starter is not hard to remove..
you turned a 20 min job into a few hour job... |

Yer I looked at it from the top and thought bugger this! Maby I should have looked at it from the bottom. Oh well done now

Nah ef, is there something special bout the ba? The ef starter was only 25 bucks
