Hey all! I'm going to replace my starter motor tonight as it's on the way out. So do I have to take the intake manifold off or has anyone done it with it left on?
My "gut" tells me to take it off cause it looks like a prick to do with it on! But hey I might be wrong.

Cheers,

Sorry if this has been asked before I couldn't find anything.

can be done with the manifold on, but it's a prick of a job either way.

With the EB I have found unless your going underneath the only way to get it from the top with out being a pain is to take the airbox and hoses etc out of car so the throttle body is bare, a long 1/4 inch extenstion bar and a good ratchet spanner you can get the top bolt no dramas and and if your handy you can manuvere it to get the bottom one

i know you have already done it, but no need to remove the manifold, the starter is not hard to remove..
you turned a 20 min job into a few hour job...

Did you replace it with a BA model starter?

Smaller and easier starting.

Less to whinge about when removing too. Lol
