I know this is probably the dumbest question, but I'm about to replace my thermostat with a high flow 77 deg C type.

I'm not planning to drain the entire f**k system just to fit a poxy thermostat ...so should I be OK just taking the top thermo housing off, pulling the old thermo out & slapping the new one in?

I will bleed the any air out afterwards by running engine with the filler cap off.

Just wondered if I needed to watch out for or do anything else?

Don't worry guys, all done ...piece of piss.

New thermostat making a big difference so far, now sits on line below L on gauge, whereas it used to sit on A and creep up to R/M on hot days with AC on.

Definitive hot day test tomorrow...

Will be interesting to see if fuel consumption goes up as these cars are designrd to run at high temp and if running cooler the ecu thinks the car is still coldish and increases fuel. :shock:
