Hi All,

The vehicle datalogger I am designing is running well.
I am in the process of testing the first prototype of the Version 2.

Just thought I would share with you the results from some testing. Here it is recording Manifold pressure, Speed and calculating acceleration. However it can do lots more than that!

This is a run I did 10-100 km/h from 1000rpm in 1st gear (no launch). You can clearly see the gearchanges into 2nd and 3rd. Will be great for a comparison when I get my HP4 chip and cam package from chiptorque (already ordered).

I was saying 'impressive' to the mapping capabilities of your data logger, but 7.4sec is nice too :D
You willing to let slip what sort of other features you've built into it Spork?

Well the key is it's flexability. The idea is this:

There are 2 digial inputs and 7 analogue ones (one is permanently set up to read batt V).

Any analogue input can be put through a linear function y= Mx+c (you choose M and c) or a user defined 2D table.

Any digital function can do this too and also has functions to calculate RPM, duty cycle, Frequency, Pulsewidth High and Low etc.

There are 4 ouputs (buzzer, LED, Switch Mosfet, PWM Mosfet). And any of those can be set to switch from the digital or analogue inputs (after the teble or linear function etc. is applied). The PWM mosfet can also have varying PWM frequencies from 64 - 5000Hz.

The datalogger can also output the data at a maximum of 20 times a sec through a USB port or serial port to a laptop in ASCII text. No PC software apart from hyperterminal is required (std on windows).
Alternativly the data can be logged to internal memory at a selectable logging rate as fast as 20 per sec. At this rate you can log for 1.5 minuites. Newer versions of the datalogger can be upgraded with more memory.

All the data and menu functions are displayed on a 4x20 line LCD. Alernatively with the LCD removed it can be controlled through text commands through the serial/USB port.

The internal timer is accurate to 1millisecond and is logged with the data.

Anyway that is version 2. Version 2.5 is currently in design and will have a propper PCB and fit easily into a case etc.
Thinking of offering it in a Kit form. But it needs some windows software to make it user friendly which I don't know how to write.
