Ive just started bolting down the rocker gear on the head ive bought and had worked to find that 2 of the holes are f**k threaded..... can i do a tap and dye job through the rocker gear and into the head?

Better off taking the rocker gear off again and tapping a new thread and installing a heli-coil.

Heli-coils are definately the way to go.....I used them on the A14 head for my Datto ute and they work like a charm. If you buy a complete set you also get the installation tool too.

Well i got curious thinking i wonder if there is any thread that the bolts dont reach......Yep there is, over a center metre. Got longer bolts and bobs your aunty done up nice and tight.

Got it running tonight....goes HARD.

I'd be p****d at the bloke who did the head for not checking :shock: but glad to hear it was an easy fix :lol:
