I filled up the beast with optimax for the first time. Some of you might remember an old post where i was getting about 310km's from every fill up which remained constant everytime I measured it. With optimax, i got 365km's and that was including fanging the car a bit more (cause of slight power dif at high revs). Very happy, next, i've been recomended to use bp ultimate. I'm loving it! :)

Good stuff. It's funny how some cars react well to differing fuels and others don't give a s**t. Seeing as e-series Falcons aren't tuned (unless modified) for a higher octane than that of regular unleaded, it's surprising to see that people get a noticable kick out of higher octane fuel.

Okay, now after getting my first run on optimax, i got 365km's, over my usual 310 from unleaded. Second run of optimax, I got just over 400km! Then after that tank, i filled her up with ultimate and got just over 400 again which i'm very happy with. This is not exaggerated at all and im sure my testing was more accurate than that ray martin racv test on f**k a current affair. If anyone else has a cpi ea and is running unleaded, try premium fuels, you'll never go back.

The 'premium' petrols often have detergents and s**t in them, may have helped clean the injectors?
Or something?
Only explanation I can think of for such a massive difference!
I'm a BP ultimate user.
I love the s**t!

Caltex Vortex is a detergent fuel. It apparently cleans the valve stems...

I'm a woman user.

I have a CPI engine and i get over 500km's easy, my best ever Highway drive was 700 on a tank and that is on standard unleaded, maybe because i have an EB series 1 it might be a little different but still my medium is about 550km's hard and easy driving and I live in the city.

310kms is bugger all, thats like 20L/100kms.
Unless you drive flat out everywhere, slightly spirited driving should see no more than 14-15L/100kms.
