no such thing as an EF ute, the ute that was available at the time of the EF's was the XG, looked like an XF with an EB grille..... had the same non BBM setup as found in EA-ED's
the EL equivalent was the XH, series 1 XH's ran the EF spec engine IIRC, and XHII's had EL engines

the body is quite different for the XG/XH, as it's based on the XD bodyshell, although essentially everything from the firewall forward was changed to EL spec for the XH's

same power output in the utes as for the sedans IIRC

BBM=broad band manifold, the dual length intake setup as found on EF-EL's

IIRC=if i remember correctly

i am keeping it simple for the models, cos theres no such thing as an EF or EL ute

To help you understand, the XH ute had a body like an XD ute with a front that resembled a EF. this is probably the ute you are calling an EF ute.

hope this helps.

the XH ute ran from 1996 to 1999 it ran a EF-EL style motor (depending on the year) with a EB inlet manifold on the standard ute and the EF intake manifold on the XR6 ute. they ran all EL front suspension and a steering rack instead of a box.
i hope this clears things up for you.
