if i was you i would try and get a job the hardest you can, becasue unfortuannally this sounds like it could get expensive very quickey , ive just spent 1500 on parts to rebuild my EF and i havent gotten them all yet, lol so yeah see if you can get more on your loan.

if your up to it , next step might be stripping it down , least take the head off and see whats happaning

Warning!. once you take the head off regardless of whats wrong its going to cost $$$

read up on it in your manual

how hard is hard to turn??
what are you using to turn it over?? even with a std 1/2 drive ratchet it will still be a little tight to turn over without plugs. remember you are turning all the engine accesories, torque converter aswell..
also how high did the water get inside??

also i wouldnt start pulling the engine down yet...

once some of the electrics have dried, connect the battery and try crank it over without plugs in it,
make sure there is oil in it of course..

if the engine turns over without dificulty and without any strange engine noise, it would be fair to say that the engine could be ok...
if your electrics are to the point where it will crank the engine then fit the plugs and see if it starts??

One question.....ok maybe two, how the hell did you get water 200mm below the window and why were you trying to drive through it?!

a mate had the same problem with his jetski, he drowned it and then left it in the shed for a week and wondered why it wouldn't turn over lol. so we stripped it down and obviously the cylinder's where coated in rust, so we soaked it in diesel for about two weeks and everything started to free up. so i suggest put some oil or diesel in the cylinders and leave them soak for a few days, might free some stuff up, preferably 2stroke oil as it will burn better and alot quicker if there is still some oil left in there when you actually get around to trying to start it. also once you have left the oil soak for a couple of days, turn the motor over with the socket nice and slow, dont force it to much as this could damage your rings (provided im on the right track here) and you dont want that.

P.S. im pretty sure the motor has to be turned clockwise from the front  (correct me if im wrong)

cheers,
Tomo

ok so just a quick update, ive dumped the old oil replaced the oil filter and bought the ford geniune oil. i put 3.5 litres in like gregory told me too. turned the engine over by hand.. so easy to turn over now for some reason? maybe because i have more oil in this time. now about disconnecting the injectors, this might sound like a silly question to some, but i think it would work. so dont attack me if its a stupid idea haha. would it be easier for me to just take the fuel pump fuse out? because that would then stop fuel from pumping into the injectors correct? and then it would save me from disconnecting them.
sorry if this sounds stupid, but as a novice it seems like a good idea haha
thanks for putting up with all my questions too, really appreciate it!

Was water in the oil?

If you just want to turn the engine you dont need to disconnect the injectors. Just leave the plugs out.

wouldnt that still pump fuel into the engine tho? if so i dont want that to happen because i still need to replace the fuel filter and fuel, there might be water in the fuel
