I am not familiar with I6s but perhaps have the TB controller checked? There was a procedure here for cleaning and fixing that as that proved detrimental towards idle quality some times.

is it a just a sound or is the whole car shaking?
if it is mainly a noise it may be the bolts on the torque converter??
i had that happen to me (the bolts were loose) and it made a pretty nice sound when idling in drive

i'll stand by what i said 'your not much of a mechanic, that includes your work mate'by the sounds of it i wouldnt let you work on a matchbox car, lets us all know the name of your workshop so i can avoid it,hate to go in there and get told 'don't know whats wrong but will ask on fordmods they might help me.mate your a clown and a f**k mechanic by the sounds of it..instead of tickfordghia should be crusty the clown,or aspro, slow working dope, get a life..

thanks for the replies guys, it seems like a common problem..

i think ill give the car to my mechanic for a day and tell him to fix it, and he can check the engine mounts and harmonic balancer first, ill let everyone know how it goes..

mine shakes in idle, but in any gear selection, eg P R N D. Have worked out that it is coming from cylinder 6, you guys got any ideas. Leads and plugs have been eliminated.

ohh.. damn man that beats me, if all else fails you might have to take it to a mechanic or even ford for them to nut it out..
